Great images bring people into shelters. More visits means more animals out the door to forever homes. Find out how you can host a workshop ...
Why? Executive Director and Shelter Me Photography co-founder Nanette Martin sums it up best, “Because there’s a jewel in every kennel in every shelter and I know that a picture we take WILL save one of their lives!”
At Shelter Me Photography we know first hand that nothing speaks to the heart of a potential adopter like a great picture. Over the past 8 years we have photographed over 9000 homeless animals in almost one hundred shelters in sixteen states. Shelter feedback has shown that our images have consistently contributed to increased adoption rates, helped to find forever homes for many long-term, hard-to-place shelter residents and even prevented dogs on death row from being euthanized. “The animals photographed by her in our shelter readily get adopted. Of the last two groups photographed by Nanette, 100% of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats found new homes! When one of her photos was printed in the Aurora Sentinel newspaper for the shelter’s featured Pet of the Week, we received a record number of phone calls inquiring about the dog.”

At SMP we aim to help change the perception people have about shelter animals. Nothing says success better than the stories we hear from shelter staff and adoptive families.View Portfolio
